Prodeus blew us away with its mixture of highly rendered 3D art and retro-inspired design that branches out from the environment to the DOOM-like HUD. The game features a hand-crafted campaign from industry FPS veterans, a fully-integrated level editor, and a built-in community map browser for instantaneous action with nearly limitless levels to play. It reaches the quality you expect from a AAA experience while adhering to some of the aesthetic technical limits of older hardware. In-game it looks and feels really good, though I prefer turning off the sprite effect and using the 3D models instead. As far as presentation, it tries to emulate the look and feel of the first batch of polygonal shooters released in the mid-to-late 90s, such as Duke Nukem 3D and Quake.
