Instead, to do either of those things, you have to create an automation, which you access from the main screen, under Smart Scenes. However, you can’t simply choose on or off, and you can’t pick a specific color and/or dimming level. For instance, when you click on Schedule, you can choose times for a bulb to go on and off. The Feit app can be confusing, and it has odd roadblocks. We also paired lights with these platforms to trigger lights with other smart devices (such as security cameras). Everything we tested can pair with some type of voice assistant, such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Siri, so you can operate it by voice. We also set up Schedules and tested any other features. We used iPhone and Android devices to look at the app controls, to see how easy it was to set up and control the lighting devices, when you’re at home as well as away. (For suggestions, check out our guide to Wi-Fi routers and our guide to Wi-Fi extenders.) If you have problems getting good Wi-Fi outdoors, consider upgrading your router or adding an extender or repeater. Since all of these products are designed to go outdoors, we tested a variety of spots outside of our home to determine how well they stayed connected to Wi-Fi. For bulbs, we used a light meter to measure lux (or the amount of light that spreads in a given area), working with the same equipment, under the same conditions, at various angles and dimming levels. We also compared Color Rendering Index (CRI) ratings, when available, to judge color accuracy. We looked at specs for lumens, which is a measure of light output. PetScreen installs like regular insect screening and is excellent for use in patio/porch enclosures and windows and doors. Phifer PetScreen, pet-resistant insect screening, is tear and puncture-resistant to prevent damage by dogs and cats. It is not made to be used as roofing material or in horizontal applications. Glas-Shield also functions as a privacy screen in vertical (wall) applications. Glas-Shield can be installed in the lower enclosure panels (chair rail down) to keep dirt and debris out of pool enclosures. Phifer Glas-Shield is our 18x14 fiberglass mesh that has been vinyl-laminated. SunScreen is easily installed on any type and size of window and also performs as an insect screening. SunScreen absorbs and dissipates up to 70 percent of the sun's heat and glare before it reaches the window. Phifer SunScreen is woven vinyl-coated fiberglass screening manufactured for the primary use of reducing solar heat gain in the summer and reducing heat loss in winter. Fiberglass screen tends to get brittle with age and sun exposure, while SuperScreen® is virtually unaffected – which means it will look newer longer and save on maintenance. With SuperScreen®, extended exposure to the sun will not result in the bleaching, flaking, and fading, like other screens. The UV tolerant properties of SuperScreen® reveal themselves in the form of unsurpassed color retention, longevity, and filtering characteristics. SuperScreen® fabric includes a biocide compound that resists mildew growth, yielding longer lasting beauty from the fabric. In fact, it remained 3 times stronger than new fiberglass screen. In a simulated seven-year weathering test, SuperScreen® lost only 1% of its original strength. SuperScreen® advanced polymer formula defies deterioration. SuperScreen® provides the homeowner many years of worry-free durability and protection, by incorporating superior tear resistance and tensile strength. Within 3 to 4 years, with deterioration, a strong gust of wind can tear fiberglass screen to shreds. The fiberglass screen material available today can become hard and brittle within 3 to 4 years, to the point it can be easily damaged by pets, flying objects like golf balls, hail, tree limbs, roof shingles or children at play. Until now, screen fabrics for outdoor enclosures have been limited in strength and durability, needing replacement in only a few years due to puncture, tearing or breakdown from exposure to the sun. We use Phifer® screen on all of our rescreens. Below we have many of the screen types available to you at your request. We can repair one panel or rescreen the whole enclosure. Do you have a tear in your pool or patio screen? Does the screen on your enclosure have a white haze to it? This is one of the staples of our business, and we have been doing it for many years.
